Semar y Protección civil presentan estas acciones clave para prepararse, protegerse y recuperarse ante el impacto de un huracán.
La temporada de huracanes 2025 en México se mantendrá activa hasta el próximo 30 de noviembre, tanto en el Océano Pacífico como en el Atlántico.
Esta fase crítica del calendario meteorológico nacional exige una preparación meticulosa, especialmente en regiones costeras o vulnerables a fenómenos tropicales.
Las recientes formaciones de sistemas como Alvin, Bárbara, Cosme, Dalila y la aproximación de la tormenta tropical Erick han subrayado la importancia de seguir medidas preventivas claras y coordinadas para salvaguardar la vida, la integridad física, así como el patrimonio familiar y comunitario.
La Dirección de Meteorología de la Secretaría de Marina (Semar), junto con Protección Civil, emitió múltiples lineamientos específicos para actuar antes, durante y después del impacto de huracanes en el país.
A continuación, te detallamos las recomendaciones de manera estructurada, conforme a las fases del fenómeno:
Antes
- Mantente informado a través de medios oficiales como Semar, Protección Civil y medios locales.
- Prepara tu vivienda: Revisa techos, ventanas y estructuras que puedan desprenderse.
- Retira objetos de exteriores que puedan ser proyectados por el viento.
- Planifica evacuaciones: Identifica refugios temporales, rutas seguras y transportes.
- Si vives en zona costera o vulnerable, prepárate para evacuar.
- Procure un lugar para proteger a sus animales y equipo de trabajo.
- Almacena víveres: Agua potable con tapa, alimentos no perecederos, baterías, radio, linterna, medicamentos y ropa.
- Guarda documentos importantes en bolsas de plástico.
- Plan familiar: Acuerden un punto de reunión lejos de su casa, en caso de que no puedan regresar.
- Llevar una tarjeta de contacto a la mano, en la billetera, bolso, mochila, etc. También se recomienda enviar una copia a la escuela de los hijos para que sea archivada.
- Desconecte todos los equipos.
- Cierre las llaves de gas y agua.
Durante
- Mantener la calma.
- Tranquilice a su familia.
- Permanece en un lugar seguro.
- Aléjate de ventanas, puertas y objetos que se puedan caer o romperse.
- No salgas hasta que las autoridades indiquen que termino el peligro.
- Aunque haya calma momentánea (posiblemente el ojo del huracán), evite salir.
- Mantén la comunicación: Usa el radio y teléfonos solo en caso de emergencia. Conserva la batería.
- No encender velas y/o veladoras.
Después
- Espera instrucciones oficiales: No regreses a tu vivienda hasta que se declare segura.
- Si hay heridos reportarlos inmediatamente al servicio de emergencia.
- Mantenga desconectados el gas, la luz y el agua hasta asegurarse de que no haya fugas ni peligro de corto circuito.
- Revisa daños con precaución:
- Especialmente fugas de gas, agua o cables eléctricos.
- Cuida la higiene: No consumas agua ni alimentos contaminados.
- Hierve todo lo que consumirás.
- Usa zapatos cerrados al caminar sobre escombros.
- Cerciórese de que sus aparatos eléctricos estén secos antes de conectarlos.
- No divulgue ni haga caso de rumores.
- Únicamente use el teléfono para reportar emergencias.
- Colabore con sus vecinos para reparar los daños.
- En caso necesario, solicite ayuda a las brigadas de auxilio o a las autoridades más cercanas.
- Desaloje el agua estancada para evitar plagas de mosquitos.
Si su vivienda está en la zona afectada, no debe regresar a ella hasta que las autoridades lo indiquen.
